We Are Here for You and Your Pearly Whites
Regular dental cleanings and exams are a crucial part of keeping your smile strong now and for years to come. If you do not make regular trips to visit our dentist, you are taking a gamble on your oral health. You might not think anything is wrong with your smile, but many problems start so small that they are noticed until they require more in-depth care to take care of. Our dentist and team have the knowledge and technology to catch any dental issues when they are small and manageable, allowing us to treat them without fuss.
A Careful Checkup and a Squeaky Clean
During your exam, we will carefully examine every part of your smile. This includes looking at the relationship between the teeth and gums to check for signs of gum disease. When caught early, gum disease can be easily treated and reversed; if left alone for too long, gum disease can progress to a stage where it is no longer reversible and requires consistent care for the rest of your life. We will also check the other parts of your gums and teeth, including what is below the gumline, in order to catch and address any other oral health issues.
After your exam, we will clean your teeth using specialized tools. These allow us to remove hardened plaque and get to hard-to-brush areas, keeping your smile safe from potential problems. When you leave our office, your teeth will be squeaky clean!
I brush and floss regularly; why do I need to come in for a cleaning?
Maybe the biggest reason is that brushing and flossing, important as they are, simply cannot prevent all dental issues. Sometimes, dietary choices or genetics can also make it difficult to keep your mouth clean or leave you more vulnerable to specific dental issues. When you come in for a regular cleaning, we can help remove plaque and tartar that you cannot get rid of on your own, and we can also talk with you about possible issues we notice. We are all on the same team when it comes to your oral health!
What if I have not been to the dentist for a while?
No matter how long it has been since you have been to the dentist, we want to see you at our office! We will not judge or shame you on the state of your teeth, no matter how long it has been since you have seen a dentist. We are committed to helping you feel good about your smile and doing what we can to relieve any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing. You do not have to live with a smile that brings you grief. You deserve to love your smile and have great oral health!
What happens after a cleaning and exam?
If we do not find any issues during your cleaning and exam, we will simply schedule your next appointment and see you in six months. If we do notice something amiss, though, we will discuss our findings with you and make a plan to restore or protect your oral health.
Call today to schedule your next appointment with our experienced dentist! We are excited to help you smile with confidence and comfort.
